Event?
At Event Concepts, our aim is to create a showcase experience that takes guests to the very essence of the philosophy and soul of our respective client. It’s about creating that golden thread that runs through the whole event and beyond. Born from a family’s love for horses, wine and cuisine, Cavalli Estate is the latest world-class venue to make its debut in the Stellenbosch Winelands. Their invested interest in commitment to sustainability and design excellence proved to be our team’s golden thread for their exclusive launch event – “Going Green in Style”
Conceptualised by our creative whizz Kate Rawbone and interpreted and implemented by our coordination team, our team wanted to present Cavalli as a sleek, stylish green oasis set within contemporary architecture and surrounded by picturesque vistas. Since Cavalli is soon to be awarded a prestigious Green Star Rating, the “Going Green in Style” concept was translated by transforming the venue into a larger than life Terrarium.
A terrarium is a transparent globe or container in which miniature oasis-like plants and flowers are grown. Each space/venue at Cavalli was introduced to guests progressively throughout the evening as small part of a larger terrarium, and what was created was a living tapestry where the world of floristry became art, and where high-end eventing met its Green match.
Each venue was filled with lush, conceptual installations and arrangements that brought a vibrant sense of greenery and life into the modern space. Bespoke lighting concepts filled the voluminous space in the restaurant, but also served to enhance the central contemporary installation. The Outdoor Terrace was filled with moss covered cocktail plinth tables and suspended geometric lighting features. Impressive décor and floral concepts stood proudly alongside the contemporary art pieces inside the Equus Art Gallery; the Wine Tasting Centre was adorned with real life terrariums.
Not to be overlooked, talented local Chef Henrico Grobbelaar created a spectacular menu that was inspired by nature and vibrant colour, taking its cue from the event rationale. His cuisine style is contemporary take on the classics, and for this event, the focus was on fresh, organic and locally sourced ingredients presented in an inspired fashion to create a memorable gastronomic experience. Chef Grobbelaar’s menu was paired expertly with a selection of estate wines, artisanal cocktails, craft beer and a notable selection of single malt whiskeys.
Our Event and Wedding Teams look forward to hosting many more exciting events and celebrations in this new incredible contemporary space in the winelands.
