Event?
As South Africa becomes the big new international destination for global conferences, incentives and corporate events, the economy is being boosted in many ways and some of our disadvantaged communities most in need are thankfully feeling the benefit.
Corporate social responsibility activities are a key focus for international companies and Event Concepts specialise in creating bespoke, interactive and engaging CSR projects for our clients. We enable them to connect and give back in many meaningful ways and donate to projects that are close to their brand and core values.
Our private banking clients from Singapore spent an afternoon at a shelter for abandoned and disabled children. As well as donating a much needed disabled swing and specialist equipment, the highlight of the day was seeing CFO’s from around the world engaging with the children and erecting new playhouses. Our clients and Event Concepts team alike witnessed a rewarding and emotional day. The smiles on the faces of the wheelchair bound children will never be forgotten.
We engaged an American corporate incentive group in social development in the Winelands. Solms Delta is a progressive estate that has given part ownership and a share in the business to over 200 historically disadvantaged resident tenants and employees. Every employee now has an interest in making Solms-Delta a success and is trained and employed in activities such as farm tours, wine tasting and management. Our clients danced and sang with the employees as the staff treated them to wine tasting and a musical performance that chronicled the history of the farm.
Our international clients spent the day with James Fernie, inspirational owner of Uthando, a truly innovative non profit organisation that raises support and takes groups to connect with over 50 different charity projects in the sprawling townships of Cape Town. Our clients spent the day in Khayelitsha township with three projects- Abalimi Bezekhaya (the Planters of the Home), Ekhaya eKhasi Art and Education Centre as well as the Thokozani Brothers.
Of the course the Concepts Collection is committed to its own corporate social responsibility and we source many of our suppliers such as talented musicians, entertainers and artists from disadvantaged communities. We also donate financially each year to Dance for All which provides children from historically disadvantaged communities with the opportunity for enjoyment, promotion of self-esteem and empowerment through the medium of dance, as well as training professional dancers and developing a unique, indigenous dance company.
