The brief was simple: our events team were to design and execute a stylish end of year celebration for a top financial firm for both their Cape Town and Johannesburg offices. The concept, entertainment and setting had to be urban, contemporary and Über slick.
And the strapline that would need to tie it all together? An Evening to Laugh, Play and Celebrate!
The festivities were to start in Johannesburg and the monochromatic black and white colour scheme allowed our team’s creative energies to think outside of the box. Despite the evening being first and foremost a reason to celebrate the end of a successful year, the décor remained sophisticated and stylish for both events with inspired detail right down to printed napkins and straws, inventive food presentation and modern paper chandeliers. Slick lounge and cocktail furniture concepts filled both high-rise venues in each city, adding a trendy chic to the contemporary space.
Guests were enthralled from the moment they set foot into the styled space. Greeted by gorgeous hostesses and Human Tables offering them elaborate cocktails, they were pulled in by the collars for an evening of the unexpected! Cape Town’s bash was the very first event to be held in a new inspired space in the heart of the CBD.
The Johannesburg crowd were blown away by the surprise performance of the world class and multi award winning South African R&B act, Mi Casa! Cape Town’s audience were not left disappointed! They were entertained by the stunning ladies known for changing the face – and look – of instrumental music in South Africa: Sterling EQ. Both performances set the party pace for the rest of the evening that followed. With hot DJ’s keeping guests on the dance floor, fun photobooth corners with hilarious black and white props and the Ice Cream Ninja’s manipulating ice-cream that has to be seen to be believed – this end of year party in both cities, was undoubtedly an evening to laugh, play and celebrate in true Concepts Collection Style!
